This is a geological-coastal stage which lies to the south of Catania in the alluvial plain of river Simeto and the “Playa” (the sandy beach); northwards there are the black lava stone cliffs from Mount Etna.

Therefore in our fishing boats you will discover the traditional anchovy fishing, the lampara fishing (a boat equipped with a large lamp light to attract fish at night), with creels and “coppi” (baskets).

Fishing tours are completed with a visit of fishing villages, as for example Marzamemi and its ancient “tonnara” (tunny-fishing nets), open fish markets and of “ Fishing and Sea Museum”.
