I want to add my voice to Adele’s in praising the trip and all the arrangements. Everything went very smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Francesco was extremely helpful and accommodating and really went out of his way to meet our needs. We really appreciated his help with our luggage and with the shopping we had to do to replace our missing clothes and to get food for the sabbath.
We enjoyed all the hotels. We would have preferred being elsewhere than Nicolosi for the first Saturday because there’s not much to do or see there. BUt I understand that we were there because of its proximity to Etna. It also would have been nice to spend more time in Ortygia, but we had to leave early to go shopping.
My favourite towns were Castelmola and Taormina. One of our best meals was at Trattoria Don Ciccio in Taormina. We also enjoyed the Taverna dell’Etna in Castelmola.
The best day was the hike through the Alcantara gorge and the visit to the ecological park.
I would have liked to spend more time on Etna. We really enjoyed Vincenzo who gave us a really good tour. His enthusiasm is infectious.
The rest of the trip was also wonderful–Villa Romana, Valley of the Temples, Scala dei Turchi and Palermo. We enjoyed it all.
